Terms of Service
DRAFT — for lawyer review. Not in force. Written from the product spec (§6 lifetime-deal terms, §9 legal checklist). Items marked "Lawyer to confirm" need a decision before sales open.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Who we are
- SOPleased is provided by Nathan Brown, operating as a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). Lawyer to confirm: trading entity, registered address, and that the product is held separately from Preshift and Rethink Leadership.
- Payments go through Stripe Checkout with Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe, through its Link service (shown at checkout as "Sold through Link"), is the merchant of record: it charges you, collects sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt. Its payment terms govern the purchase transaction; these terms govern your use of SOPleased.
- Prices are shown before tax. Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
- Contact: hello@sopleased.com.
2. What the product does
- You describe how your team does a task. Our AI writes a one-page standard operating procedure (SOP) and a script. You review and approve the plan. We then produce an animated training video (landscape and vertical) and a printable SOP PDF with trainer sign-off.
- Every plan is shown to you for review before any video is made. You decide whether to approve it.
3. Accounts
- You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox secure.
- One licence = one workspace. The buyer is the workspace owner and may invite members up to the seat count of their tier.
- You must be at least 18 and buying for business use.
4. The lifetime deal
- "Lifetime" means for as long as SOPleased is offered to customers. It does not mean the buyer's lifetime.
- What you buy: one tier (Solo, Team or Multi-site) with a fixed monthly video allowance, seat count and brand-kit count, as shown at checkout.
- Never reduced: we will not reduce the monthly video allowance, seats or brand kits of the tier you bought, for as long as SOPleased is offered.
- One video = one approved plan, rendered as landscape + vertical + SOP PDF in one style, about 2 minutes 30 seconds or shorter, plus 3 free redos (style change or redo one beat) within 30 days of approval.
- Allowance: resets each calendar month. Unused videos do not roll over.
- Top-up packs: extra videos bought separately. Top-up videos never expire and are used after the monthly allowance.
- Drafts: writing a plan does not use a video. Drafts are capped at 3 times your monthly allowance per month.
- Failed videos: if a render fails on our side, the video is returned to your allowance automatically.
- Upgrades: you may upgrade to a higher tier by paying the difference, while units of that tier remain.
5. What is included, and what is not promised
- Included in the deal: the 3 named styles (Soft Clay, Flat 2D, Whiteboard); the 7 industries (office, hospital, school, hotel, warehouse, restaurant, retail) plus a general studio scene; 2 formats (16:9 landscape, 9:16 vertical); the SOP PDF with sign-off; training links (one link per training that records each learner's typed name, initials, answers and completion time); share links, downloads and export.
- Not promised: new styles, new industries or scenes, new characters, other languages, voice choice or cloning, LMS or SCORM export, LMS features (learner accounts, reminders, due dates, rosters, certificates), an API, bring-your-own-key, or anything "unlimited". We may add features. None of them are owed under the deal.
6. Fair use
These rules are published before the first sale and will not be added to later.
- One workspace per licence.
- No resale, sharing or sublicensing of the account.
- Draft cap of 3 times the monthly allowance.
- No automated or scripted use of the service.
7. Refunds
- 30 days from purchase, no questions asked, requested from your account page or by email. See the Refund Policy.
8. If we close the service
- We will give at least 90 days' notice by email.
- During that time you can export everything: MP4 videos, SOP PDFs and plan data (JSON).
- If we close within 24 months of your purchase, we refund the unused months out of 24, pro rata. Lawyer to confirm the wording and how refunds are paid when Stripe (Link) is merchant of record.
9. Your content
- You own your task descriptions, the SOP text and the videos produced for you.
- You give us a licence to store and process your content only to provide the service to you.
- You confirm you have the right to use any logo or company name you upload.
- Do not include personal information about staff or customers in task descriptions. We remove emails, phone numbers, street addresses and links before processing.
10. Our content
- The characters, scenes, props, styles, software and templates belong to us. You may use them inside the videos we produce for you, for your own internal training and to share with your teams, without time limit, including after any closure.
- You may not extract the characters or artwork to use outside those videos.
11. Training aids, not advice
- SOPs and videos are training aids. They are not legal, safety, medical or compliance advice.
- You review and approve every plan. You are responsible for checking that a procedure fits your site, your rules and any training or certification your site requires.
- We do not produce clinical procedures, hazardous-energy or chemical procedures, or licensed-equipment operating procedures. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
12. AI-generated content
- Plans are written by an AI model. Voices are synthetic. Characters are cartoon figures and do not depict real people. See the AI Disclosure.
13. Availability
- We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Render times shown are estimates.
14. Suspension
- We may suspend an account that breaches the Acceptable Use Policy or the fair-use rules, after notice where reasonable. Lawyer to confirm notice and cure period.
15. Liability
- Lawyer to draft: limitation of liability (suggested cap: amount paid in the 12 months before the claim), exclusion of indirect loss, consumer-law carve-outs.
16. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms. We will not change the lifetime-deal commitments in section 4, the not-promised list in section 5, or the fair-use rules in section 6 to your disadvantage.
17. Governing law
- Lawyer to confirm: California law and venue; arbitration clause or not; EU/UK consumer carve-outs.
